Fallen soldier, Lieutenant Andrew R. Nuttall
from the1st Battalion, Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, based in
Edmonton, Alberta, returns home to Canada at CFB Trenton on December 28.
Present to pay their respects will be Her Excellency The Governor General of
Canada, The Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Minister of National Defence, The
Honourable Peter MacKay, Chief of Defence Staff, General Walt Natynczyk, and
other dignitaries.
Lieutenant Nuttall was killed by an improvised explosive device that detonated
during a foot patrol near the village of Nakhonay in Panjwaii District, about 25
km southwest of Kandahar City, on December 23, 2009. The explosion also killed a
member of the Afghan National Army and injured an Afghan interpreter
