Different pictures along the Highway of Heroes from Cobourg to

Private Alexandre Péloquin travels along the Highway of Heroes
through Port Hope.
Private Péloquin was killed when an explosive device detonated
during a foot patrol in the Panjwai District on June 8.
Fred Waite from Port Hope felt so strongly about the Highway of
Heroes he got a tattoo of it.
Waite lives near the Highway of Heroes in Port Hope and has been
coming to the bridge ceremonies for three years. Since he
doesn't drive, he thought he'd show his support by getting a
tattoo.
"It helps in some way to show I care," said Waite.
He was among others standing on the County Road 28 overpass in
Port Hope. And
Wayne McVeen from Cobourg proudly waving a Canadian flag over
the Highway of Heroes on Ontario Street in Cobourg.
McVeen said the flag was sent to him by a military official and
flown at the base on the 16 and 17 of January over the memorial
for the fallen Canadian soldiers at Kandahar Air Field.
